Having performed extensively all around the UK and parts of Europe from a young  age, Roopa has a wealth of experience and familiarity with a range of diverse  audiences. Whether accompanying dancers or vocalists, recording, collaborating or  going solo, she brings a sincerity and heartfelt approach that comes out through her  sitar in every performance. Roopa was privileged to give solo performances in Birmingham before Santoor  virtuoso, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and at the Darbar Festival in London before  Hindustani classical vocal maestro Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar. She has also given  performances in the presence of sitar legend, Ustad Vilayat Khan Sahib and spiritual  leader, Satguru Jagjit Singh - two of her fondest memories. Venues include, The Curve Theatre, Leicester and in the past at the House of Commons and NEC Birmingham.  She has also recently recorded music for the soundtrack of the critically acclaimed  film, 'West is West' and performed as a guest artist at the John Lennon Tribute Concert held at the Liverpool Echo Arena in 2010.  Earlier this year, Roopa performed with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra  (CBSO) and has featured on the Tsunami Appeal song alongside Shin, Taz and Jassi  Sidhu.   One of Roopa's greatest and most moving  memories was performing before the  physical presence of spiritual guru, Lord Shri Sai Baba in 2009  whilst on Sadhana  camp with Sri Ajith Popat's group and also on Sai Baba's birthday in 2003 while  accompanying the Late Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh.  PERFORMANCE info@roopapanesar.com © Roopa Panesar 2013 HOME     ABOUT     TOUR     PERFORMANCE     ALBUM     MEDIA     CONTACT
